Racing in the Port Fairy District began in 1844 and lasted through no fault of the organisers until 1953. Maps, letters, advertising, newspaper text, images and a diary compile the information contained within the pages. 'The District' section covers: Crossley, Killarney, Kirkstall, Koroit, Rosebrook, Tower Hill, Woolsthorpe and Yambuk. Within the pages are listings of officials, who mainly gave of their time in a volunteer capacity. Some biographical information relating to owners of horses, their trainers, and jockeys are also included, where the information is available.
